Description

Calculus—the foundational language of change and accumulation—remains one of the most challenging subjects in higher education, with students often struggling to bridge the gap between abstract formulas and meaningful understanding. This comprehensive dissertation presents a groundbreaking solution through the development of PjBL-GeoG, an innovative learning media that integrates Artificial Intelligence (AI) for personalized feedback, GeoGebra for dynamic visualization, and Project-Based Learning (PjBL) for authentic, real-world applications. Drawing on robust theoretical foundations including Vygotsky's Social Constructivism, Sweller's Cognitive Load Theory, and Lave and Wenger's Situated Learning, this research systematically develops and validates a web-based learning platform using the ADDIE model. Through rigorous expert validation, implementation with 40 students, and comprehensive data analysis, the study demonstrates that PjBL-GeoG is highly valid (90%), practical (87.9%), and effective (N-Gain 0.62) in significantly improving students' conceptual understanding and learning outcomes in calculus. This book offers educators, researchers, and curriculum developers a validated model for transforming calculus instruction through technology integration, providing practical implementation guidelines, detailed learning syntax, and empirical evidence of effectiveness. It is an essential resource for anyone committed to making mathematics learning more meaningful, engaging, and accessible in the digital age.
