This study examines the socioeconomic and psychological impact of street crime on community peace and victim resilience in an urban context. Street crime, including snatching, mobile theft, and related incidents, has become a growing concern in densely populated cities and has significant consequences for individuals and society as a whole. The research focuses on how such crimes affect victims financially, emotionally, and socially, while also exploring broader effects on neighborhood safety and trust within the community. From a socioeconomic perspective, the study highlights how victims often face direct financial losses, including cash, mobile phones, and other valuables, along with indirect costs such as medical expenses and loss of working days. These financial burdens are especially severe for low and middle income households, where even a single incident can disrupt daily life and financial stability. Psychologically, street crime contributes to fear, anxiety, stress, and reduced sense of security. Many victims experience long term emotional distress, which may affect their mobility, social interactions, and overall quality of life. At the community level, repeated exposure to such incidents weakens social cohesion and reduces public trust in law enforcement and neighborhood safety. The study also explores victim resilience, focusing on coping strategies, family support, and social networks that help individuals recover from traumatic experiences. It aims to identify key factors that strengthen resilience and promote recovery.
