Description

Approximately, 20 million tons of waste material is generated in some places yearly out of which 6 % i.e., 1.2 million tons is glass waste. Glass is an inorganic material so it can neither be decomposed nor incinerated. Glass has successfully been used in asphaltic pavement layers since 1960s where some of the percentage of coarse and fine aggregate are replaced by crushed glass and the final product is known as GlasSphalt. This research emphasized on the evaluation of structural, functional and durability analysis of GlasSphalt using various testing parameters including Marshal procedure to study the volumetric characters, Wheel tracker test to study the rutting behavior, four point beam fatigue test to study the fatigue characters, dynamic modulus test to study the deformation behavior, Aggregate polishing test and British pendulum test to evaluate the skid resistance and Rolling bottle test to study moisture damage characters of GlasSphalt.
