Though approaching the age of 100 years which falls on 2nd October 2026, he continues involvement in Mission Oriented Research on problems of relevance. Prof. Talwar is widely recognized for his pioneering contributions to immunology, particularly the development of Mycobacterium indicus pranii (MIP) as a unique therapeutic vaccine for leprosy, as well as his work on immunological intervention against human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) for the development of a contraceptive vaccine. The MIP vaccine offers a unique treatment of Leprosy patients to render them free of ugly blemishes which no drug in the World can achieve. Throughout this journey, he remained deeply engaged with scientific communities, serving as President of several national and international societies and helping shape policy and direction in immunological research. Honoured with numerous accolades, Prof. Talwar’s achievements reflect not just scientific excellence but also a lifelong dedication to societal impact. Even today, his continued work at the Talwar Research Foundation stands as a testament to his enduring passion for science and innovation.
