Description

Cybersecurity in fintech has evolved from a perimeter-protection problem into a multidimensional cyber-resilience challenge spanning identity, APIs, cloud infrastructure, third-party providers, artificial intelligence, blockchain, ransomware, regulation and organizational governance. This study proposes an integrated framework for understanding how these interconnected capabilities contribute to fintech cyber resilience. Building on documented financial-sector incidents, empirical cybersecurity evidence, established cybersecurity frameworks and recent scholarly literature, the study addresses the fragmentation of existing approaches by connecting technical, organizational and regulatory dimensions within a unified resilience perspective. The proposed framework provides a basis for examining prevention, detection, response, recovery and adaptive capabilities in digitally enabled financial services. The study contributes theoretically by integrating previously fragmented cybersecurity domains and practically by providing fintech organizations with a structured basis for cybersecurity investment, governance, risk management and resilience planning.
