Lourdes Lavinia Lavín López

Lourdes Lavinia Lavin Lopez (Guanajuato, Guanajuato, 1995)
She obtained the degree of Biologist from the Universidad de las Américas Puebla where she specialized in evolutionary ecology, mainly in sexual selection of endemic lizards from Mexico. She participated in a research stay at the University of Guanajuato working on genetic engineering and applied biotechnology with yeasts of economic interest. Later, she continued her studies at the Institute of Ecology (INECOL) participating in flora and fauna monitoring programs in arid areas of Mexico, making a stay at the Desert Laboratory in Mapimí in 2019. In 2021 she obtained her degree as a Master of Science ( Biology) from the University of Guanajuato where she specialized in Bioinformatics, and completed a diploma in this same subject at the Universidad Michoacana. As a result, the author developed a computational algorithm for comparative genomics analysis in filamentous fungi in order to understand biological processes involving light-dependent gene expression, which has been used by several laboratories.
She is currently interested in pursuing a PhD in bioinformatics, following her line of research in photobiology and comparative chronobiology with a computational approach in higher organisms.
