Pharmacogenomics (PGx) is the study of how genetic variations affect different responses of patients to drug therapies. Multiple variants located in pharmacogenes which encode proteins (e.g., metabolizing enzymes and drug transporters) may affect drug disposition, resulting in differences in drug pharmacology. Hence, PGx testing is a very useful approach for individualizing patient therapies and predicting their treatment outcomes according to their genotypes. This book highlights the followings: 1. Fifty pharmacogenes, with high to moderately high evidence of association with drug response alterations, which may influence outcomes of 152 drugs according to CPIC, DPWG and PharmGKB databases. 2. The top 10 pharmacogenes (CYP2D6, CYP2C9, CYP2C19, G6PD, HLA-B, SLCO1B1, CACNA1S, RYR1, MT-RNR1, and IFNL4), where each is predicted to impact patients’ responses to ≥5 drugs. 3.
