Listening skills are fundamental in the multifaceted process of acquiring English Language proficiency, especially for Ecuadorian students who face significant challenges in understanding verbal communication within real life, authentic contexts. This Book directly addresses a crucial pedagogical gap in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) instruction by exploring innovative, technology driven solutions designed to improve the comprehension in the modern classroom. Specifically, it examines the pedagogical benefits of integrating podcasting as a strategic, audio based digital tool improve active listening skills and information processing among senior high school students. Centered on a rigorous empirical research study conducted within the educational context of the city of Portovelo, this research provides a detailed analysis of a classroom intervention focusing on a group of second year Baccalaureate students. To accurately measure the true effectiveness of podcasting as an educational catalyst, quantitative and qualitative data were meticulously collected through a comprehensive pre-test and post-test experiment design. This framework was further complemented by a tailored questionnaire aimed at assessing the students´inner perceptions attitudes, and emotional engagement during the implementation of these audio listening sessions. The empirical finding presented in this volume demonstrate that digital podcasting serves as an exceptional effective tool for optimizing language acquisition. The evidence reveals significant academic progress between the pre-test and post-test phases. Moreover, qualitative data highlights that students felt highly motivated and deeply engaged when incorporating digital podcast as a core part of their daily classroom learning experience. The book offeres systematic insights into how this specific resource can be successfully deployed by educators to help learners effectively identify main idea and substantially improve information retention.
