As the world reviews the future of digital governance through the WSIS+20 process, Africa faces a defining question: will it merely respond to global digital priorities, or help shape them? This publication examines the WSIS+20 review from an Africa-centred perspective, bringing forward urgent issues that matter to the continent’s future, including digital inclusion, affordability, digital sovereignty, financing, rights, and digital public infrastructure. It argues that Africa’s voice must not be treated as an afterthought in global digital policy, but as a necessary force in building a more balanced, development-driven, and inclusive information society. Grounded in policy reflection and strategic insight, this work offers more than commentary. It is a call for stronger African participation, clearer priorities, and bolder engagement in the global decisions that will shape technology, opportunity, and equity for decades to come.
