Solid waste management is one of the most complex environmental challenges of the 21st century. At the heart of this challenge sit Technical Landfills (TLFs) — purpose-built facilities designed to receive, process, and store household and equivalent waste in a safe, controlled manner. Once relegated to the sidelines of policy debates, these sites now occupy center stage in national sustainable development strategies, circular economy plans, and greenhouse gas reduction programs.
