The intensification as a linguistic resource in the oral discourse of Spanish speakers in two communities in the United States represents a special interest for this study, given its importance not only for the sociolinguistic field but also for the evolution of Spanish in contact with English. Therefore, the adverbial intensifiers "muy," "bien," and "súper" are analyzed in relation to origin, age, gender, and educational level as social conditioning factors, as well as positive and negative descriptive adjectives as linguistic conditioning factors.
