Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris (Xcc) (Pammel) Dowson is a phytopathogen. It is a vascular pathogen that causes the most destructive disease -black rot in cruciferous plants including cauliflower worldwide. The pathogenicity analysis of Xcc in crucifer crops such as cauliflower, cabbage, mustard was characterized the disease symptomps showed a small, wilted, typical V-shaped lesion that extends inward from the leaf edge towards the midrib. Presently, three Xcc races namely race 1, 4 and 6 have been identified in India based on the host specificity and pathogenicity. The race 4 isolate Xcc-C7 was isolated from cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. capitata) grown in Bengaluru, the southern parts of India.
