This book is about the quality of interactions in pursuit of one or more common objectives: governance. The financial scenario under which the relationships are analyzed works as a ‘case study’ but by no means configures itself as a necessary condition for the application of the analytical tools, or for the rationale supporting the reflections proposed by the author.
The achievement of greater legitimacy and stakeholder engagement within collective projects underpins and strengthens the prospect of more effective public policies. This is the argument that runs through all the approaches here. The author emphasizes the importance of agents' participation in devising and implementing projects involving their interests—with the component of formalization (de jure political power) taking on a fundamental role. Idiosyncratic mental and emotional individual constructions account for different interpretations of reality, and it is against this backdrop that the challenges are analyzed here.
