Zakaria

Dr. Zakaria completed his B.Sc. and M.Sc in Microbiology (1993 and 1995 respectively), DU, Bangladesh. He has completed Ph.D in Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology (2000), EU, Japan. Dr. Ahmed published several articles in different prestigious international and local journals, reviewer and Editorial Board Members of several reputed international journals, awarded Junior High School Governmental Scholarship (1983 to 1986); Departmental Scholarship (1989 to 1993); Governmental General Scholarship (1993 to 1995); Japanese MONBUSHO scholarship (1997-2000) and JSPS post-doctoral fellowship (2003-2005). His research involves environmental and natural product microbiology; search for bio-pesticides for the control of crop and animal pests as a strategy of improving food security; search for antimicrobial agents from medicinal plants; synthesis of bioactive natural products.
