Urology is a medical specialty concerned with the urinary tract in males and females and the reproductive system in males. It encompasses the diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of conditions, including urinary tract infections, incontinence, benign prostate enlargement, testicular cancer, and infertility.
The urinary tract consists of two kidneys, two ureters, a bladder, and a urethra. The kidneys filter waste products from the bloodstream, producing urine that travels down the ureters to the bladder, where it is stored until it is expelled through the urethra.
