Description
Panchavalkala is a combined water extract of five barks of medicinal plants which is widely used for the treatment of wounds in Ayurvedic medicine. Three alternative combinations of Panchawalka is used in Sri Lanka. Recently, synthesis of silver nanoparticles using various plants extracts has gained much attention due to their cost effectiveness, affordability,effectiveness and eco-friendly. This study was to synthesize silver nanoparticles using the three alternative combinations of panchavalkala and to assess their antimicrobial activity against some common wound pathogens.
