This work explores India’s escalating water scarcity and proposes a smart, IoT‑driven solution for sustainable water management. By integrating sensors, microcontrollers, and wireless networks, the system monitors water levels, quality, and flow in real time, automates pump control, and detects leakage. The proposed Smart Municipality Water Management System (SMWMS) reduces wastage, improves efficiency, and ensures safe water supply across domestic, agricultural, and industrial sectors. Combining traditional practices like rainwater harvesting with modern IoT 4.0 technologies, the study highlights a scalable, cost‑effective path toward conserving water and safeguarding public health.
