The book serves as a concise professional reference for medical students and practitioners, covering the virus's life cycle and impact on the human eye. Specialized Focus on the Eye: A major theme is the ophthalmological impact of COVID-19. It explores the eye as a transmission route and describes symptoms like conjunctivitis and other serious complications. I describes in brief the long-Covid syndrome with the possible impact of vaccines. In Wuhan, china December 2019, the story started by the appearance of sever acute respiratory syndrome virus SARS-CoV-2, COVID-19, the world health organization, WHO, considered it as a pandemic with wide spread all over the world with high mortality rates. Its transmission to human is still a vague but many reports attributed that to the intimate contact between humans and animals in Wuhan’s animal market. This virus cause mainly respiratory manifestations with respiratory failure and death in the end stages of the disease. Many studies found that, it causes coagulation disorders which contribute to the morbidity and mortality. The respiratory route of transmission made it easy to infect many patients and spread in many places in a very short time, the protective measures were the only known before the invention of vaccines and available treatments, so social isolation with wearing masks and face shields with high sanitation measures were the golden protective measures. Some infected cases reported ocular manifestations in the form of redness, foreign body sensation, conjunctival secretion, and even drop of vision. Many studies examined the infected patients regarding ocular manifestation regardless the severity of the disease and many manifestations were reported.
