The advent of secondary batteries led to the development of portable electronic devices, and the advent of lithium-based batteries made it possible to apply them to a wider area. As batteries are applied to various fields, the voltage and capacity of the batteries need to be varied. To solve this, batteries are connected in series or in parallel. Since lithium-based batteries have ignition and explosion characteristics, a battery management system (BMS) is required. Commercialization of these lithium-based batteries in a state where there is a lack of understanding has resulted in casualties such as fires, and as a result, the entry of batteries into the market has been stagnant. In this paper, research was conducted to help a deeper understanding of lithium-based batteries, and the root cause of ignition and explosion was identified and solutions were proposed. In addition, a solution to the problem of ultra-fast charging according to consumer demand and commercialization was proposed.
