The results of long-term research and analysis during the exploitation and development of the electric traction system 25 kV, 50 Hz applied on the electrified tracks of the Serbian Railways are presented in this book. The research was first conducted with electric traction vehicles of different series but with regular DC electric traction motors and then with modern traction vehicles with three-phase asynchronous traction motors. The conducted research primarily relates to ascertaining the quality of electricity according to the provisions of the EN 50160 standard at the output of electric traction substations 110/25 kV in real conditions of exploitation, and when there are several traction vehicles at the same time on their supply sectors. Researches were conducted on the basis of appropriate measurements and system simulations in the Matlab-Simulink software package.
