Lanthanides have been the protagonists of a growing wave of studies in recent years due to their peculiar characteristics that draw the attention of the nanotechnology and optoelectronics industry. Specifically, in the country's development, Rare Earth Chemistry plays an important role, corresponding to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) created by the UN, contributing in areas such as Accessible and clean energy, Decent work and economic growth, and Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. However, despite its relevance, the approach, and discussion of this topic are very superficial in the learning process of Higher Education students in Chemistry courses, insufficient for students to analyze and explore the impact of technologies arising from these elements on society.
