The textbook on “Development of Al6061/CNT Metal Matrix Nano Composites and Optimization of its Process Parameters in Drilling” is written to cater the needs of young researchers minds of 21st century. This book is organised under 7 chapters. Chapter -1 presents a brief introduction to composite materials and its classification, Aluminium Metal Matrix Composites (AMMCs), Carbon Nano Tubes (CNTs), Casting methods and Metal cutting. In Chapter-2, Literature review on Fabrication of AMMNCs, testing of mechanical properties, drilling of AMMNCs, microstructural studies, applications of MMNCs, optimization techniques, research gaps and objectives of the present work are presented.
The Chapter-3 deals with the methodologies of Taguchi design of Experiments, optimization techniques- Sine Cosine Algorithm, Fuzzy Logic and minitab software. The Chapter-4 deals with fabrication of AMMNCs, testing for its mechanical and metallurgical properties, design of experiments, drilling of AMMNCs and chip morphology.
