The book is oriented for engineers, researchers, architects, and students. It discusses the topic of energy and energy efficiency in residential buildings in the Saudi Arabia and sometimes compared it with the indicators of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and international. This work aims to study and analyze opportunities to benefit from energy efficiency and solar energy in all aspects and applications in residential buildings. It also demonstrates the contribution to the commitments made to the global climate and the 2030 agenda for sustainable development. The book can be considered a reference for engineers to apply the new Saudi Building Energy Conservation Code. Energy is consumed mainly in buildings in air conditioning systems, especially in hot countries like GCC countries. The use of insulation materials in building envelopes is essential to achieve more primary energy savings required for building air conditioning. Therefore, a chapter was devoted to studying thermal insulation in detail and even available materials and companies working in this field.
