In the 21st Century, Human Resource Information System (HRIS) plays a strategic role in the decision making process and the Human Resource Management (HRM). Effectiveness would largely depend on how well HRIS is handled. Human resource management (HRM) emerged as a key function of modern management and eventually, the scope of HRM has shifted from merely administrating the human element to creating high performance work systems. To develop a clear understanding of the effectiveness of Human Resource Information System in IT Industry in South India.
Descriptive research method is used for this study employing both qualitative and quantitative approaches. Convenience sampling was adopted to identify the category of HR employees. A total of 286 questionnaires with self explanatory questions were administered to HR Professionals of 15 selected software companies in South India. MS-Excel and Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) were used for analysis purpose.
