Low-income school districts frequently face challenges with teacher retention, a problem that has been consistently linked to several key factors. Previous research identifies inadequate compensation, lack of administrative support, insufficient teacher preparation, low student achievement, poor morale, and high levels of stress as primary drivers of teacher turnover. This study sought to examine the experiences of educators within such districts who were contemplating leaving the profession. By exploring their perspectives, the research aimed to uncover potential strategies to improve teacher retention and address the root causes contributing to high turnover rates.
